Beginning in late 2015 some Self Storage Operators in Canada were receiving letters from the Canadian Revenue Agency, requesting information on past years etc. After consulting with the CFIB Team in Ottawa that are assisting us with our request for exemption of the 5 employee rule, they advised that anyone receiving these letters should comply with the CRA and respond. In January 2016 one of our CSSA Members who had done exactly that, contacted us to advise that he had now received an invoice from CRA in the amount of over $33,000.00! This information was passed on to the CFIB Team and they have responded very quickly to assist us.
